FALL MOOD BOARD: THE BIG THREE 🍂

THE *PERFECT* TEDDY BEAR TOPPER DOESN'T EXI…

Before the weather officially turns frightful and bare ankles are no longer a feasible option, we still have a few short weeks to enjoy peak fall vibes. As you find yourself summoning all your beloved fall staples from seasons' past (helloooo and nice to see you again), I invite you to check out three of my favorite trend-driven pieces that I've either already invested in or hopefully will soon.

An early fall mood board created from my saved collections on Instagram.

An early fall mood board created from my saved collections on Instagram.

Instagram mood boards have become my favorite way to not only gather outfit inspiration but to follow and track trends. This October/November, I find myself leaning into a fall palette dominated by rich ochre, caramel, and cognac hues (terribly groundbreaking, I know). In the coming weeks, I look forward to embracing collared sweaters and warming up to a cuppa apple cider. Thankfully, this season's outerwear game remains strong with fleece and sherpa coats providing unlimited warmth and crazy-cozy appeal. Lastly, in lieu of scene-stealing loafers (still luv you, though!), I'm jonesing for a pair of Dr. Martens-esque Mary Janes. Keep reading for my top three picks...

Alex Mill Sherpa Fleece Jacket (as seen at Quattro Tizi)

Taking cues from your favorite teddy has officially never been more en vogue. Woodsy, yet elevated enough to hit the city sidewalks in style, Alex Mill's signature sherpa fleece can do it all. The rugged appeal makes you look as though you're going on a hike or warming up around the campfire. Alternatively, a silk slip dress and Docs will bring forth your inner-city girl. Details including a contrasting corduroy collar and pockets make this championing topper a winner in my book.

Madewell Colorblock Polo Sweater (at Madewell)

Lately, Madewell's been my go-to for everyday basics that I'll reach for approximately 1,349 times. This open-collared merino sweater is no exception. Just this past weekend, I paired it alongside a purple wool wrap skirt for an afternoon spent galavanting around Georgetown. The pumpkin spice hue is too perfect for this time of year. I couldn't help but notice all the reviews praising its '70s appeal. (I'm here for that, too!) Pro tip: Don't let the polo collar look intimidate you. You don't need to be a prepster to pull off this outfit-elevating essential. Try tucking it into jeans or adding a keepsake locket for visual interest.

Shop-Pêche Gemma Flats (at Shop-Pêche)

Pavement-hitting flats with a chunky sole... can you dig it?!? While loafers and socks have practically become the look du jour (specifically, the Prada ones that have likely inundated your latest Instagram scroll), I'm all for having a grunge moment. These ivory buckle-front flats from Shop-Pêche err on the punk side while still being just a pinch sweet. Pair them with a corduroy jumper or a cropped vintage sweater and high-waisted Levi's for unlimited ~cool~ vibes this fall/winter.
